problem with microsoft office database msg

The "there is a problem with the office database" message appears every time I open Word or Excel. I've followed the rebuild instructions many times, and that hasn't helped. I read on a forum to move the Microsoft User Doc from Docs to desktop, and let the MUD rebuild, but that didn't work either. Any suggestions?
