I have two files in the trash in one folder. The folder is nested inside another folder. If I try to empty trash, the message back is that the Volume is in use. CheckDisk reports that the volume is OK. Get Info reports that permissions for the files are unknown.
I tried various "force empty trash" methods and most of them report an error saying the files don't exist.
The command sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/* gives no messages or errors but doesn't remove the file from the trash.
Can anyone suggest a means of emptying the trash under these circumstances?
