itunes does not recognize my ipod when connected. I have reloaded itunes as well as ipod and still does not work...also have tried multiple cords and ports. ipod charges by computer but doesn't connect

I have recently upgraded my ipod touch and itunes to the latest versions. Since I have done itune no longer recognizes my device...if have reloaded itunes and ipod, changed cables and used different ports. the ipod is able to charge via computer. anyone have any suggestions?

Did you do everything here assuming a PC:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

Including

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

or

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

New cable and different USB port?

Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem
