Q: Can't install itunes on windows 8. WHY? Installation package could not be opened. BUT WHY?

I am using a 64bit windows 8, I have attempted to install the installer 7, (quicktime) but that also brings up the same error message.

All the therads over there have not given me an answer. There just does not seam to be an obvious installer for windows 8. Driving me mad.

Is it apple or windows that are causing this issue, or are they just not playing ball these days?
