Do you have a scratch? Usually they don't scratch easily, but if it forseriously has a scratch--you can't get rid of it. Although you can try polishing it if you are desperate. It is paint, so if you scratched the paint of you would basically have to repaint the WHOLE thing.
I too have a scratch on my nice new macbook pro, it looks as though the paint has scratch off, is there really a product that can fix this? I couldn't find any info on the Iklear polisher product.
I own boht of those products, the Klear screen works great on the screen for cleaning it but it isn't a scratch remover. The scratch remover 'iCleaner' says its for removing scratches from the iBook (Macbook) and iPod, won't it do more damage to the aluminum of the Macbook Pro?
I believe it would further hurt the MBP finish. The MBP's finish is not paint.
The way iKleer works is via gentle abrasion. It seems to me that using this on a MBP would be like using sandpaper on a stainless steel sink.
Good luck, and please let us know if this product works for scratchs on the MBP.
EDIT: You could probably get the same results as the iKleer by using an inexpensive rubbing compound that is gentle enough for automobiles with clear coat finishes (or possibly by using detailing clay).
iKlear is a screen cleaner/spray on liquid. It works **** well on the MBP screen but does not remove scratches, period... it just can't
iCleaner is the polish, and it does absolutely nothing to the MBP. I went out on the limb and tried it on a small scratch in an inconspicuous spot and it did absolutely nothing. period. It is designed for the Macbook, not the Macbook Pro. Which leads me to question why the faq on that website says that its part of the macbook pro cleaning kit.
I just got a scratch on my brand new MacBook Pro. Today I spoke with a representative of the company that makes iCleaner scratch removal and they said it would remove the scratch, however, it would also remove the coating. I also spoke with Radtech, the makers of Ice Cream, and they recommended that I absolutely do not use their product as it will completely ruin the finish.
