hi guys i have an iphone 5 got it from canada. model number is MD295C/A as i searched it from internet its unlocked but i cannot activate in my country(Turkey). "This iPhone is not currently setup to work with carrier you're attempting to use. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked." Im getting this message i need help thanks...

There is NO ONE on the Internet who can tell you if your phone is locked or unlocked. The sites that claim to be able to do this are scams. The only way to find out is to call Apple and ask. From your description it sounds like your phone is locked to a carrier.

it says in here. is it possible to have an locked phone with a unlocked model number ?
A model number doesn't indicate the lock/unlock status.
All iPhones are unlocked ,it is the carrier that sells the iPhone that applies the lock

Call AppleCare and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it's locked to.
That, or contact the carriers in Canada that offer unlocking and find out if it's locked to one of them, and if so, what their conditions for unlocking are.

No one can call for you, but Apple has phone numbers all over the world. So you should be able to reach them.
