just bought a new computer and downloaded iTunes, but when I logged in and authorized the computer, there wasn't anything there

Did you follow the information in the article above to copy your music from your old computer to new computer?
You need to separately put the purchases on it, either by moving them from the old computer or redownloading them from the iTunes Store servers.
