can’t verify the identity of the server “ax.itunes.apple.com”.

how do I get rid of this message? iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “ax.itunes.apple.com”.

iMac 21.5" 3.06 proc. 4GB ram 500GB drive, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Did you get a reponse. I have the same issue and the app freezes when I put in a CD...this didn't happen before.

I went into iTunes preferences and under "General" I unchecked the box for "Check for new updates automatically". Haven't had the problem since and all is well. Hope this helps!
