    You will need to print to your Wi-Fi printer over a normal 802.11 wireless network....not 3G or 4G network. If you need more info about iPad printing,  Please post here:

    I hope your reply will mean something to my son. I use a 2g mini iPad, but this wireless stuff has me

    Lost. All the info says I have to be on the same"WiFi network" and as far as I can tell, I don't use one.

    If you don't see an icon that looks like this at the top of the iPad's screen.....

    then you are not using a wireless network....you are using a cellular network.

     

    I know of no AirPrint printers that will work on a cellular network, but the experts in the iPad support community might, or they might be able to suggest a workaround.
