Powercord Hissing/Sizzling Sound - Audio Recording

The powercord hiss on my MacBook is extremely loud, and also the cord and ac adapter box get extremely hot. I have an external thermometer situated on top of the ac adapter box and it quickly maxed it out, meaning it's over 130 degrees farenheit. Is this happening to anyone else?

Here's an audio recording of the hiss if anyone is interested:

I have the Macbook 2.0ghz in white, it has the cpu whine, the fan moo, the powercord hiss, and the extreme heat. Great laptop here otherwise...

OMG! That's scary, sounds like something that's ready
to burst...

If you haven't done it yet, can you calibrate the
battery to see if it makes any difference?, also do a
system power reset (magsafe and battery out, press
and hold power button for 10 seconds then plug
everything back in).

I have reset (hold to power button), and it seems that it makes less noise, but continues doing.
The powercord of the MAcBookPro (in te MAcbook) and it works quiet.

I am also getting this issue with my power adapter when its has been charging for a while. Strangely using QuietMBP makes my poweradapter go much quiter!

Also my MacBook keeps turning it's self off at random points. I've called Apple and they are taking the laptop back for testing, but they wern't that concerned about the power cable and don't want me to send it back with the laptop, but suggested I take it to an apple service center for testing..

But apart from those things, the heat, and the moo-ing sound it was a great buy!

I have just got myself a macbook and noticed this. it sounds so bad that i am worried to use the charger! Like others have said, it seems odd that it gets a little more quiet when photobooth is running, and may not be a case of just needing a new power supply.
I guess I need to take it to an Apple shop and get them to compare it to the others and see if its faulty.

but my powerbrick and magsafe connection also hissed/whined too, moreso on the brick, especially when the power is low no my macbook. anyways, i took it to a genius at the store for the mooing as well as the powerbrick hissing/whine. first he said the moo was normal. then he took my charger and macbook into the back to hear the hiss/whine more clearly, came back and said "i hear a liiiittle bit of sound...." but still offered me a 10% restocking fee FREE return.

i wonder if hes just saying the moo is on all of the macbooks just to keep people quiet. i mean... would a teeny tiny sound that he supposedly heard (its actually really loud and annoying) really warrant a waiver of the 10% restocking fee?

you know what aphonydissent? i agree, and thought that applecare would be more helpful, but both times i called in, the person just told me that he cant verify or diagnose anything and that he has never heard of my problems. the best he could do for me was give me a case number so i could go into the store and talk to a genius... bummer. but im curious, if i had bought the macbook online instead of at the store, would applecare be more helpful?

My several week old MacBook (SN 4H6193C4UXX) power adapter started sizzling today. The sound is pretty loud. Running Photobooth or a terminal with the yes >> /dev/null command makes the sizzle go away.

I also noticed that my battery was almost drained.
I turned the MB off last night with a full charge and unplugged it. About 18 hours later when I used it again I noticed it was down to about 16% remaining.

Mine does moo and have some whine from the adapter area that disappears when the above "fixes" are implemented.

I live about 40 minutes from an Apple store. I'm going to make an appointment and take it in to see that they say.

i just got my macbook yesterday and the adapter started sizzling last night.

i called apple care, described to them the sound and the heat of the adapter and they said that they'd send me a new adapter and that i should discontinue use of the old one immediately and send the old one back when i recieve the new one.

i bought mine at an apple store, and apple care was very helpful.
