My Ipod Touch does nothing when I plug it into my Hp computer. My computer will make a connection sound, but does not turn on iTunes, and there is no power symbol showing on my iTouch. I use the cord to power and charge the iTouch so I know it is good.

Hmm, ok then. I know it isn't a port issue but just out of curiosity try another port, this shouldn't be happening. This is not an issue with iTunes, or the cable, you say it charges the iPod when plugged into an outlet. The port works for other devices, so it's not the port. And the iPod cannot connect to iTunes in its current state so it's not iTunes. Try other ports just for the heck of it, it's gotta be something with the computer or the cable. Try other ports and if yup have another cable try it to. It may be a bad wire in the cable, it can charge from an outlet but the data portion may be bad.

The only thing I can tell you is that it is not a problem with iTunes or the iPod, it has to be your computer. I know nothing about HP, I've had a dell then I went to a Mac, so I can't help you there:/ if you can switch to that other computer that sounds like it would solve the immediate problem,'as for making it work on the HP you will need to contact support for HP or Microsoft to help you. If you want to move to the other computer I can help you do that.
