Unable to sync new movies to Ipod.

I have been recently having problems getting my new movies to sync to my Ipod. I have the latest version downloaded on my Ipod. I loaded my codes and downloaded the movies to my computer, but they still will not sync. The unable to sync because the video format is not supported message is what I get.
