Q: I need to update my Touch version 4.3.3, but I keep getting the error message "The iPod software update server could not be contacted".

I need to updatw my Touch version 4.3.3, but keep getting the error message "The software update server could not be contacted".  It tells me to check the network settings but it looks like everything is ok.  What might I be missing?

    You need to be connected to iTunes on your computer which in turn needs to have an active Internet connection.

    Update Server

    Try:

    - Powering off and then back on your router.

    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

    Public DNS — Google Developers

    OpenDNS IP Addresses

    - Try on another computer/network

    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
