Q: -2002F

Hi there

I was attempting to fix a failed migration in recovery mode, and went to reinstall OSX, which I aborted.  Now I can't restart the Air.  My guess is it partially completed, and now there's no reliable startup option.

The standard startup generates a flashing folder with a question mark which I believe means that there's no startup disc that the mac can recognise.

I am able to get the internet startup option by holding down option when restarting, and after a while (starting internet recovery, this may take a while...) I get an icon showingthe world with an exclaimation point inside a triangle, with apple.com/support -2002F.  I've tried this serveral times with the same result.

Any options available to me to get up and running again?  (I don't care about the data, just want to be able to get the machine up and running for a clean migration).

Many thanks

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

You shouldn't have stopped the OS X reinstallation, because now the only option you have is to take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get back OS X Mountain Lion.

Normally, most of the Internet Recovery errors appear when Internet Recovery can't store the Recovery HD it has downloaded from Apple, so it can't start. As I told you, there's nothing more you can do

Thanks mende1.  Although perhaps it's now obvious with hindsight, it's a shame that the software didn't warn me of the consequences of interrupting an installation.  A single click without an "are you sure?" message is a shame.

It's strange because the OS X Mountain Lion installer should have advised you. Apart from that, it looks like you interrupted the installation while Mountain Lion was being downloaded, and that's the reason you are now in this point

Thanks again, mende1.  This could be correct.  I had already installed 10.8.3, but given some problems I was having I wanted to do a clean instalation.

    Gracias.
