Your purchased TV show should play in iTunes. If it doesn't play and you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases (see iTunes in the cloud availability) then delete the current copy and download it again, otherwise, or if that doesn't help, use the report a problem links in your account history to report a problem.
