Apr 1, 2013 1:02 AM in response to Capodastraby Kenichi Watanabe,I doubt you can get replacements from Apple at this point. You don't necessarily need the installation discs that came with the Mac, IF the "G4" (which model?) is able to boot Mac OS 9 directly. You just need a used copy of a retail Mac OS 9 installation disc, which you can probably find on eBay and elsewhere online.
There is one key consideration. The specific version of Mac OS 9 on the disc.
Find your G4 Mac at EveryMac.com
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/index-apple-specs-applespec.html
On the profile page for that particular model, find the entry for Pre-Installed MacOS. The version you get needs to be that version, or LATER. If it's Mac OS 8.x, any RETAIL Mac OS 9 installation disc would work.
If you subscribe to a Mac OS 9 "user forum" that is external to Apple, such as
http://lowendmac.com/lists/macos9.html
you may get additional information by asking the same question.

Query by serial number
Apple's warrenty database will identify the type of Mac you have. Your serial number is securely sent, but you get only the name of your machine.

"A serial number is a unique, identifying number or group of numbers and letters assigned to an individual piece of hardware or software. It's used for various things depending on the product / brand but what is your Mac's serial number for and more importantly... what is it hiding and what can it do for you ?"
