any 1.0G eMac supports larger drives . If you click on the section title, "Standard Hard Drive," it expands to show more including this statement:
This model supports hard drives larger than 128 GB.
128GB was the limit for older PATA interfaces. Basically every eMac has at least the ATA-66 interface; those with USB 2.0 logic boards have ATA-100.
Remember that these Macs use PATA/IDE hard drives. Many of the newer and larger drives are SATA and will not work in an older Mac lacking PCI slots.

2.2 GB is the limit of drive size for PPCs to be able to boot from & need APM Partition scheme, though with 10.4.11 & up can read & write to larger GUID partitions.
FW & USB protocols aren't subject to the 128 GB limit as older IDE versions were, but are still dependant on the chipset in the external drive.
