I am trying to get Ipad video playback using the 30pin to component cable and the lightning to 30 pin adapter.I get sound but no video. I can take the lightning adapter off and plug my Iphone in and get everything just fine,just not the adapter and the Ipad.anyone have an answer?
the Ipad is the new one with retna display, and the phone is a 4S.
As specified here, the Lightning to 30 Pin adapter does not support Video output.

Thanks.Is there anyway to get the Ipad to component? A lot of the motels we stay in only have that option on their TV's and thats what we use to review my son's race videos.
By component you mean the Red Blue and Green cables? Or the Red White and Yellow?
In either case you'll likely have to buy a Lightning Digital Av Adapter, and then an HDMI to component/composite interface.

Ordered the HDMI-VGA-RCA,it came in this morning and I hooked everything up,still no luck.Getting pretty frustrated now.

Again going through the 30 pin to Lightning adapter will not work.
After searching through apple's support site,it appears that lightning to RCA/component isnt going to be possible unless I missed something.
Not using the 30 pin,Lightning digital AV to HDMI-3 RCA. After more searching,lightning digital av to HDMI2AV to RCA might work,but I'm over it at this point and I'm just gonna book rooms that have HDTV's available.
component does not support airplay mirror so if you get a converter you can't just make the tv show what the ipad show only apps which support the old type of ac out would work apps like apples video app and the likes
