I've just gotten Apple TV, and the computer I use iTunes on is broken, and I haven't needed it for a while, but now apple is telling me that I need an computer to turn on home sharing? I was hoping 2 iPads would be enough. So, what I'm really asking is, is there a way to turn on home sharing with out a computers or do I need to get a new one?

You need a computer as that is what home sharing works from - you share content from a computer to another computer or device, you can't share content from an iPad.
Is there a way to turn on home sharing without a computer?
