Sorry, but I can not figure out how to Instant Message on my iPhone. I called AT&T and they told me about the Settings but I can not comprehend how to actually send an Instant Message.
I refuse to text and thought that's what my daughter was doing but she was IM me. AT&T said I do not get charged to IM.
Could someone please give me a step by step method?

Sorry, but guess I'm just stupid. I guess I must be referring to iMessage?
Yes, I had gone into Settings>Messages>iMessage>On... But after that I got lost.
I wanted to send a photo as my daughter did to me but simply could not figure it out.
I tried clicking on the photo and send but must be doing something wrong. I even asked my daughter how she did it but of course she's didn't know. She was afraid it had gone as a text message which she knows I don't do.
