I am running Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.6 on Lion and it will not recognize update needed for 10.0.7 or 10.0.8 - Am I missing something here? The App Store says I need the update but then when I attempt it it says that my aps are up to date.

Move the Final Cut Pro application to the trash. The launch the App Store and "install" it again.
I have the same problem. I bought the CD and succeeded in updating as far as 10.0.3, but no further. How does one download updates with no record of online purchase? I registered FCPX just after I installed it.
You bought the CD? Eh?
First, FCP wouldn't fit on a CD; and second, it's not sold on a CD, not legally.
That's interesting. I didn't know it was sold only online. I bought this several years ago, and it registered just fine with Apple and did the upgrade to .3 just fine. Has it never been sold in any fashion but online?
FCPX has only ever been sold through the App Store as a download. It does not require any regristration after it's downloaded so I'm not sure how you registered it with Apple. The application is 2.4G so I don't know how it got onto a CD.
I've installed several Windows and Mac edit softwares over the last few years, so I may be confusing my registration. It seems FCPX came on several CDs. Sounds like it's illegal. I'm surprised it updated before then, and I'm puzzled over why it shows up in my list on Apple support. It works fine as is, but I thought I'd do the updates, although some seem folks to have some problems after updating. Maybe I should leave well enough alone. I made a mistake going from iPhoto 9 to 11, so maybe I'll stay put. Thanks for the help.
Final Cut Studio, which contains Final Cut Pro 7, came on a series of DVDs. I bet that is what you have. Final Cut Pro X is the new, written from the ground up version, and is only sold via the App Store. You have the legacy version, not X.

Come to think of it, I have both. I remember 7 being a really steep learning curve, so I went to Pinnacle on a Windows computer, but couldn't bear Windows after a while, even more painful when it was sitting beside my Mac. Pinnacle is/was excellent software though. That's been several years ago.
