How do I delete previous locations stored on my iphone 5?

Thankyou so much...... I have been trying to do this since last year and usually start screaming...there is no stupid book in the corner...... (iphone 5 then- iphone 6 now)...... rapt..... happy dancing.......

go to your maps app, then click the "book" in top left corner, then you will see your recent history of loactions and you can clear from there!

When you click on the book as he described, then you will see the Recents list. Up in the upper left corner, just to the left of the word "Recents", there should be a "Clear" button. Tap that and you get the opportunity to clear all recents.

To the right of the search bar you should see what appears to be an open book. Tap on that open book and you should see the Recents list.

When I try to clear the recent history, the "clear" button does not respond at all, and I cannot clear my recent destinations. Not sure why...I am using a 5S with the latest iOS.

I am trying to do the same thing, but if I click on the icon I assume you call the open book (the one that appears when I am bookmarking something) what I get is the mail, tweet, or Facebook, add to favorites, or print options, no Recent ….

Would you be so good and go over it step by step again?

That is because with the newer iOS it is different.

After opening maps, tap in the search bar.

From there, you should see a list of addresses you have searched for, and at the top of the list should be Favorites.

Tap on Favorites.

Now you should see Favorites and Done across the top. At the bottom of the screen you should see Favorites, Recents, and Contacts

Tap on Recents

In the upper left, tap on Clear, you will see a dialog on the bottom, Clear All Recents, or Cancel

Tap on Clear All Recents

Gone!
