Genius mixes

1) In the Help Center it says Play a Genius Mix/Choose Music from the Library pop-up menu, and click Playlists./

Click Genius Mixes.

But when I follow these instructions and click Playlists, no Genius Mixes option is visible among the playlists.

How do I create the Genius Mixes option?

2) Also in the Help Center it says Create a Genius playlist/Move the pointer over a song, click , and choose Create Genius Playlist.

I have tried this on several songs and they all say No Genius Suggestions.

Is this second problem related to the first problem above, and how do I rectify it?

iPod shuffle (4th generation), Mac OS X (10.7.5)
