Iphone 5 charging cables shorting out?

Is anyone else having problems with their cables breaking right at the base of the lightning plugin? I am unplugging my phone correctly, and not pulling on the cable itself, but have been through about 5 cables so far... They get to the point after several uses, that they will not charge unless I pinch the center of the cord near the base of the lightning connector. I had a gentleman at a store tell me that's just the way they are going to be. It's disappointing.

I already changed 3 charger wires and everytime it bustes out quite quickly. The problem is that the thick part of solid plastic at the end of the soft rubber wire doesn't hold the rubber part and it is very easy to twist it or to pull it (rubber wire) while using it.

The welded connections are extra small and of course extra fragile so then they break. This is a projectual f##king error from apple same as iphone4 antenna shortcut and related signal loss.
