help i don't know what i'm doing!

I have been running 10.5.8 for a long time on a 2.16ghz core 2 duo imac (imac came with 10.4 tiger from new). I have been having a few issues with internet connection and running slow recently so decided to do an archive and install. I used the 10.4 disc and cant find the 10.5 disc to upgrade it to how it was. Now i cant (or don't know how to) get all my music, photos, doc's etc back. I have all the old applications but none of my doc's. I have an external hard drive/time machine back up but it says this cant be used with 10.4. I can see the previous systems folder but i can not access it. Do i need 10.5 or is there a way of getting all my things back on my mac?

Hi Damien,

You really need 10.5 Install Disc to get it al back and/or use Time Machine.

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

* DVD drive for installation

* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

Oh yes indeed, 10.6 is a relative steal if your Mac will handle it...

Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...

General requirements

* Mac computer with an Intel processor

* 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)

* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

* DVD drive for installation

* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
