Are both iphone 5 and 5S global devices? I know iphone 4 was not globale but 4S was.

Are both iphone 5 and 5S global devices? I remember the iphone 4 was not globale but 4S was. My company's executives are based out of the Midwest in the USA and they have iphone 5 devices and are going to Jamaica for a conference. Would iphone 5 (not 5s) still be a global device? Thus allowing me to add temporary international service plans to the iphone 5 devices? Thanks
