Removing and reinstalling iTunes is a tedious process. All Apple software components are to uninstalled in specified order, verified that these are uninstalled. Then only iTunes reinstalled.

Try this at the first instance to see if it works

Locate iTunes.exe

Right click > Properties > Compatibility

Check 'Run As Administrator' > OK

If it does not you may have to install older version say 10 of iTunes. Good Luck

Hi b noir,

I was wondering if you could help me out (I'm seeing that you've been able to resolve many other people's issues...

I restored a MacBook Pro with an external drive. Everything seemed to be ok (was able to restore profiles & images), but now it seems as though the following apps won't work: iTunes, Configurator (which I desperately need to manage a cart of 25 iPads), Safari, and Software Update. Other random apps work (e.g. GarageBand, iCal, etc...). I read that I should uninstall iTunes and reinstall it, and do the same for the other apps (Configurator & Safari). My only issue is that I get this message when I try to unistall iTunes: “iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X."

Any way you could please help out?

Thanks!
