Can't connect to my iphone 4s personal hotspot
I'm running iOS 6.1.3.
I enabled the personal hot spot almost a year ago for a one month road trip. It was occasionaly a little quirky in terms of getting it to show up on the laptop but eventually it would and it always connected without a problem. At the end of the road trip I disabled it and dropped my data plan back down.
Now I'm going on another road trip and want to use the hot spot feature again. I changed my data plan to the 5 GB for iPhone Personal Hotspot and rebooted my phone and enabled the personal hotspot in settings.
The phone shows up as a network choice on all of my Windows wireless devices but none of them can connect. It asks for the network password and after it is entered it spends a few seconds saying it is connecting and then gives up with an error that it can't connect and offering to troubleshoot the network. The troubleshooter identifies it as a device that can't be connected to but doesn't offer to fix anything.
I've tried rebooting the phone and the computer. I've tried just turning the iPhone off and back on. The issue isn't that the network isn't showing up. It is and with a strong signal. The issue is that after entering the correct password nothing will connect with it.
I've seen several related posts but they, for the most pasrt, are about the hot spot network not showing up. Mine shows up just fine -- just won't allow a connection.
Anybody have any idea what I need to do to get this to work?
Thanks in advance for your help.
