There is no such thing as a "Verizon SIM" as Verizon uses CDMA technology which does not use SIMs. So the answer is no.
No. (there is a Verizon SIM for the iPhone 5. It's required to connect to their LTE network).
You can not use a Sprint iPhone on Verizon or Vice versa, however. Calls and 3G data go over the CDMA network. You can not use any CDMA phone on any other CDMA carrier. If you want to use Verizon, you will need to purchase a Verizon phone.
I appreciate the info however Verizon supports both CDMA technology and 4G LTE. LTE is a SIM based technology. All Verizon 4G LTE handsets use SIM Card technology...most of them use a Micro SIM.
The iPhone 5 specifically uses a Nano LTE SIM
You already have your answer and it is still no.
The answer is still no.
This is true with all other devices however with the iPhone 5 (model A1429) it supports all the different technologies and carrier frequencies (CDMA from both Sprint & VZW..LTE etc...) wouldn't it seem possible to install a VZW nano SIM and it would work...
Neither Verizon or Sprint utilize their LTE networks for voice. All voice traffic goes over the legacy CDMA networks.
As already stated, no CDMA carrier will activate a device from another CDMA carrier on their network.
Traditionally speaking you are correct however a CDMA carrier could load the IMEI / MEID into their device management system and activate the device (assuming the device supported the correct bands & frequency) much like a GOBI chip set.
So quit wasting everyones time and go to your nearest Verizon store, take your iPhone, sign up for an account get your nanoSIM, and let us know how it went.
No one has stated it is not technically possible, what everyone has stated repeatedly and you seem unwilling to accept is that no CDMA carrier will do this.
We get it now.. you are stubborn.
That was already the plan...just thought someone else may have actually tried it.
They have, it doesn't work. At least traditionally.
The real answer is that yes, it will work, and it does work. I'm using a sprint iPhone 5 on Verizon with a verizon sim card that I got from the Verizon store and I have LTE capability that works just as well as a Verizon iPhone 5.
Then whoever set it up in Verizon's system violated Verizon's policy.
You cannot legally or legitmately do this.
