Q: I purchased FCPX ( hard copy) and I can't upgrade online, WHY!?!?

I purchased FCPX when it first came out, installed it and played with it for a few hours.  Ever since then I been trying to update it via App Store with no luck, its asking me to pay 300 dlls.   What can I do?  I dont have the box or anything from when I purchased it.

The software is only available for sale from the Mac App Store. You have to sign in to the store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase it. If you do you will have access to the update.

yeah there was never a hard copy of FCPX as you describe. It's been an App Store app from day one and there's only been one price- $299- i.e. never an additional upgrade price. Are you confusing this with a previous version of Final Cut Pro- like 7 or Final Cut Express perhaps?
