time machine

I am getting a message that says "time machines could not complete the backup - the backup disk is not available. Spent TWO hours on the phone tonight and one of the things done was that I changed the settings on the time capsule. I haven't the strength to get back on the phone about how to fix this. I would appreciate any suggestions.
