Unknown computer in "Shared" section of finder

I'm linked to my home wifi, and my home windows computer is connected to the same wifi and therefore, the home computer, appears in the "Shared" section in Finder. However another foreign PC has popped up in "Shared" .. does that mean that that computer has somehow tapped into my wifi? I don't have "Sharing" turned on so I assume my Mac cannot be accessed.. But since my Windows PC doesn't have this option, can this person hack into it?

If a computer that it's not yours appears as shared on the Mac, it means that it's using your network. My advice is to put another password type for your router, like WPA2 (note that it's not compatible with all computers and devices), and if you want, a MAC Filter, so you will be sure that nobody will connect to the router apart from your devices and computers.

It's normal that you see the computers connected to your network in "Shared". It doesn't mind if you have turned on File Sharing
