My iPod touch 4th generation won't update from iOS 6.1.2 to 6.1.3. I've tried three times. When it goes to the loading screen with the Apple logo it goes like 25% than skips the rest of the install and takes me back to the lock screen like I never started.
It would probably be better to keep iOS 6.1.2. I've heard numerous complains of battery draining and such.
- If you are updating via wifi on the iPod then try connecting to your computer and update fia via iTunes.
- If you updated via iTunes then
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
- If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Unless there is a pressing security need there probably won't be any future updates for the 4th Generation Touch.
