how do i connect my Ipod Touch to pc because it says device not recongized

Hi i have a new computer and the same situation happen on my old one Windows Vista my new one Windows xp, when i plug in my Ipod touch 8gb 4th generation it says USB Device not recongnized. please help me!!!.

I would start with:

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

or

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

it works for win 8 too

There could be a problem with the drivers in the computer. Try what lllass said, and if that doesn't work, call Apple or go to one of there stores.
