Having trouble with QuickTime recording external mic.

First, yes, my mic does work, and yes, it does record.

The trouble I'm having is having QuickTime record my mic and output using Soundflower while recording my screen. I tried a variety of things, including using LineIn to reroute some things. Recording does work, in a sense, because I am able to record output sound quite easily while recording my screen, but adding a mic to the whole mix doesn't work out. I set up 2ch and 64ch in Soundflower, but mic won't record at all when screen and output recordings are successful.

Also, I later used this (http://www.lockergnome.com/media/2012/03/08/how-to-set-up-soundflower-for-audio- recording/) to set up LineIn and Soundflower to see if it'd work with QuickTime screen recording - still didn't work.

I was wondering if anyone might have any solutions? I'm really not that interested in buying any programs.
