I've bought a ton of iTunes movies and never seen this, but perhaps the following will help:
It seems that others with this issue in 2010 had it resolved by redownloading the film from iTunes.

Some people with the issue reported that it happened when trying to play the movie before it had completed downloading when their library is stored on a NAS.
