How do I stop Angry Birds Star Wars from accessing my Twitter account?

My son uses my iPad all the time. Somehow he is able to send tweets from Angry Birds Star Wars (and other games). iOS doesn't give me the option to control access my twitter account for that app. How do I stop apps like that from sending tweets to my twitter feed?

iPad, iOS 6.1.3

My angry birds doesn't access my facebook or twitter...although I don't use the built in integration, I use tweetlogix for twitter and access facebook through safari. That said, I have had issues iwth my ANgry Birds HD accessing my Game Center and forcibly signing me in, to the point that even after I disable game center for Angry Birds, the next time it starts up it reenables it and signs me back in. The reason I mention this is that it's a second instance of the general app supposedly accessing other apps almost in defiance of the user's preferences.

If you go into the settings, you'll see an option for privacy. and there are categories for facebook and twitter. THere should be sliders there for 'applications that have requested access to your twitter/facebook accounts' there. If you see angry birds, slide it to off and hopefully that will stop it.

There's also general tabs for twitter and facebook where you can add/manage accounts. Maybe if you sign out/remove from there it can keep Angry Birds from accessing your accounts. If you don't use the built in integration and use the twitter app, or another app for twitter, maybe the sandbox can keep Angry Birds from accessing your account?

Are you using the built in twitter app or a third party twitter app? If you're using the built in one, sign out of it/delete it from your device and then try again.

There seems to be something with angry birds and its access to apple apps. Like how one version accesses my Game Center without my permission, even after i disable it. I don't have facebook enabled and I don't use the built in twitter app (And I'm kinda afraid to sign in lest I share your experience)

Have you googled to see if others have the same issue? Just because someone hasn't posed here doesn't mean they aren't experiencing the same thing.

Unless you shut off iOS's Twitter integration, you don't.

This feature has been done in cooperation with Twitter Inc. Thus, players of Angry Birds Star Wars who have also Twitter accounts got the chance to post the info of their favorite characters on Twitter. Unfortunately we do not have any tool to disconnect Twitter from our game at the moment. However, you can use the 'manage account' option in Twitter app and remove your account on Twitter before your children start playing the game, or disable the internet connection on your device.

To log out of your Twitter account, launch the Twitter app and go to "Manage accounts" (it's the button next to the settings button on your Twitter profile page). Then remove your default account. When you wish to tweet again, just log in to the app and you're good to go!

We are still working on developing this feature for future updates, so we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Hope you enjoy the game!

Best regards,

Kalle

I use twitter and an angry birds on my iPad, the key is I don't use the included twitter integration, I use a separate app. (mine is tweet logix but there are others...i abandoned the official twitter app due to the overwhelming amount of 'sponsored tweets' spam from Twitter.)

So if someone is wanting to have both angry birds star wars and twitter, delete the twitter info from your iPad and don't use the included twitter integration but find and use a third party app and you can still tweet. In this case the sandbox will work for you since the two apps can't talk to each other.

There seems to be something odd going on with angry birds in general. There's this inability to separate from twitter, there's my experiences with game center and the fact that angry birds constantly logs me back into game center even after I log out and disable it.....all in all Rovio seems to have an amazing amount of access to the device's inner workings (in my case, my apple ID and password). Either they've been very, very creative with their programming, or the other thing is that Apple knows and doesn't seem to mind the game accessing personal info without the user's consent and with the user not having the ability to opt out.

I'm having this problem also. My 2 year old keeps tweeting from Angry Birds Star Wars. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that Rovio have special treatment to not need user permissions for their app to access my twitter!!

Any other app needs permission and can be disabled. There solution of logging out of twitter every time I hand my phone to my son is ludicrous.

Apple & Twitter, why must Rovio have the right to invade my privacy in this manner when any other Apple developer must follow strict rules?

Angry Birds - any version - does need permission to access a Twiter or Facebook account on the iOS. This is controled in the Setting app for Twiter or Facebook respectively. Upon install, you may be prompted by the Rovio app to use these, but if you select no, it won't. If you selected yes, change it in the settings app. You can also control access via Privacy in the settings apps as well.

Try deleting your info from the built in twitter app, it won't delete your twitter account as a whole, but from the device. See how it goes from there.

I'm thinking/wondering if integrated facebook and/or twitter have a greater level of access beyond separate apps. ANd the key to keeping them separate is to literally separate them, don't use the built in integration.
