Q: Silverlight download

How do I successfully download Silverlight (for Netflix) to my MacBook Air, OS 10.8.3, through Safari 6.0.3? I have also tried to do it, unsuccessfully, with Google Chrome as the browser. Both get error messages. I gather this is a common problem. Thanks.

Not a common problem.  Where are you trying to download it from?  Have you tried the source?

Thanks, Chamar. Yes, I've tried both from Netflix, then from Safari, and also from Microsoft. None worked. The people at the local MAC store rolled their eyes when I asked them. The Chrome error said I can only download apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. The Safari one said that I didn't have enough disk space, which can't be true, as I run all by data from a portable hard drive and don't have any programs on the computer except Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It might be obvious.
