Don't want use the cellular capability on my ipad if wifi is available. Will the ipad automatically select wifi or do i need turn off cellular.

Once you join a network, and the iPad remembers that network, you should not have to turn cellular off. The iPad should find the WiFi network signal and join that way first.
The iPad is designed to use wifi first, if available. If not available, it will switch to cellular, if cellular is On. Some users report using some of their cellular budget when they thought the were using wifi (must have been dropping wifi connection).
So, if you are in a location where you have a good wifi connection, it's best to turn cellular Off.

The iPad will default to Wi-Fi when Wi-Fi is available. Leaving cellular on is normally not a problem.
To conserve battery, however, if you do not anticipate needing the cellular signal for some time you can turn cellular off in settings.
i have cellular capability on my iPad but i want to use wifi when available do i have to turn off cellular to do this or will the iPad do it automatically
