Is there a way to format my Macbook OS 'Tiger' (mid 2007) without its installation disc? It has been quite a while, so the disc has been misplaced. I was hoping to get a clean start from my old companion by using it as a 'desktop computer', and also want to clean it out because it has become very slow.

Do you at least have an image file of Tiger?
It is worth checking to see how much free space is left on the hard drive, if it is almost full it will slow the MacBook down.
For reinstalling the system software you could go to Snow Leopard, using the DVD available from the online Apple Store.
