I have Credant encryption software on my MacBook Pro OS X 10.7 and new iMac 27 inch OS X 10.8, and would like to uninstall credant. It appears as a plug-in in System Preferences. Can anyone help with this? Thank you.

Does it have an uninstaller? Have you checked with Credant?

I have searched for the Credant app or an uninstaller on my hard drive, but have found nothing. This is as you might expect - the software is intended to prevent someone from de-encrypting the hard-drive or removing Credant. I have asked my IT folks to de-encrypt the hard drive and remove Credant, but they do not appear to be knowledgable about this - surprising, since they originally required installation of Credant on my computer.
I was hoping someone on this forum might have some experience with this. Otherwise, I will push IT to solve this problem. They or I may need to go to Credant for assistance.

I do not have any experience with that application. I think that your best course of action is to contact Credant. They should be able to give you the appropriate instructions.
