4th generation iPod touch and it has locked me out for 43years and the home button doesn't work

Place the iPod in recovery mode using this program and then restore via iTunes.

Try again. Make sure you clicked on the right download. My guess is that clicked on on downloading the download manager, the big download button at the top of the page.. You want
