just like any OS I use the first account does have to have admin rights to install the os and updates, it is strongly advised to set a standard non admin account for every day use too, and on mac never unlelss absolute need for a specific troubleshooting step enable root, i had to use root on linux from time to tme and only once or twice on mac os.
