iMac G5 doesn't boot

My iMac G5 was working fine until I gave it to my daughter. Now it doesn't boot and won't accept a disk. It starts up after a few seconds with the fan working hard, but nothing else happens.

Try using this procedure to reset the SMU (power management)

And it that allows it to startup again, you might as well also reset PRAM

I had tried this procedure before posting my problem. I tried again and it still didn't work. I guess the next step is to remove the back cover and manually reset the SMU.
