When I open Safari, it suddenly tries to open over 100 tabs. I then proceed to close all but five. When I reopen Safari, it goes back to over 100 tabs despite the fact that my home page is for five tabs uing the startup folder.
Any assistance here woudl be appreciated?

Under Safari Preferences, click on Reset Safari. You will then have a window which allows you to select which items you want to reset, including "Close All Safari Windows".

I tried this excellent idea, but when Safari closes, it reopens will all 115 tabs again.
Sorry, I should have explained more. I was running into a similar problem and when I used OnyX it handled it for me.

Safari > Preferences > General do you have Safari Opens With set to 'a new window' or 'All Widows from last session'. Try 'New Window'.

Unfortauntely, this did not help either. I have tried cleaning with OnyX and resetting and using one window mode as well (in OnyX and preferences). Do you think Xmarks or Roboform Pro create the issue?
Uninstall them and see if the problem disappears. I dare say it may.
