Can't ping Windows PC

On my network I have a router, a Win 7 PC, iPhone and a rMBP (Mountain Lion).

I have been trying to access a share on my PC unsuccessfully. Using SMB://address/share or SMB://user:pass@address/share gives the "The server may not exist" error. From my PC and iPhone, I can ping all devices on the network. However from the rMBP I can only ping the iPhone and router, I get no reply from the PC. I have turned off all firewalls and it still wont communicate. Any ideas on what to try next? All help is appreciated.

Well that makes things more interesting. With you being unable to ping the PC from the MBP it would suggest a broken path between the two devices. But with you being able to ping the Mac from the PC that shoots that theory down.

If you are using wi-fi on the MBP, then as a test I would use Ethernet to the router (if available) and see if this lets you ping the PC.

Try connecting the PC and Mac directly with an Ethernet cable, and then configure each to be on the same network (ie, IP addresses of 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 or so), and then see if you can ping and connect to it. This will bypass all network hardware.

Alternatively, try completely resetting any routers and network switches, as odd corruption in their various routing/address tables can block connections.
