Same issues here STILL! When I unlock my phone from the lock screen it takes a minimum of 8 seconds before my wifi comes on. Fooking anoying!!! It drops now and again as we'll. never had this issue with my 3GS , my wife is using my 3GS now and when I swipe to unlock it the wifi is up and running instantly!

My iPhone 5 is ******* me off! When it does connect to wifi after the 8 second lag, I have a huge amount of alerts showing up on my screen (I have no cell service at my rural residence) so I receive everything via wifi.

PLEASE Apple fix this!!!!

Whenever my iPhone 5 goes to sleep my Wifi shuts off. Apple please fix this annoying problem!!! Your customers have been waiting too long for you to fix this predominant issue!

This is normal. If you want it to remain on, plug it into the supplied power adapter. Some computer USB ports don't provide enough output, so they may not work for this.

You obviously did not read all the posts in this thread. When plugged in or not my wifi shuts off. Apple says (after many checks of my phone settings & resetting) that this is NOT normal. They have told me that it is a hardware issue and my phone is now with them. All my other iPhones do NOT do this. I have had them all except the first model. And currently have 2 3gs's & a 4th gen iPod and they ALWAYS receive iMessages at my residence when in lock / sleep mode.

Some have made the statement that "iPhones are never plugged in when at home". What the **** does that mean? Of course they are plugged in at home! (Wow!

The people at Apple HAVE confirmed they are seeing lots of this issue with the iPhone 5's.

so people PLEASE stop saying that this is normal!

I am also having problems with my Wi-Fi dropping and sometimes for a minute at a time. I had to replace my iPhone4 in June b/c the speakers quit working. Apple replaced my iPhone 5 last week b/c I complained bitterly about the Wi-Fi drops. I have no problems with my iPhone4 but the 5 constantly drops the Wi-fi including the replacement. I finally came to this Forum to find out if this was a common issue with the 5. The Apple reps don't seem to be aware that this is a common issue with the 5. When my contract is up in two years, I will not be buying another iPhone.
