Q: file sizes of transfered photos

I want to use the camera to ipad connector to preview photos when on vacation. If I take hundreds of photos and then use the connector to upload them to the ipad will I fill up the ipad memory quickly? I am using a Canon 7d shooting raw and they come across on a trial fine but I cant tell how big the file size is of each photo. Does any one know how to figure that out?

Do you have any of your raw photos from that camera on your computer ? If you do then you can have a look at them to see how big they are, or there are apps such as PhotoMeta that allow you to see their sizes. Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera will show the total amount of space that your photos and videos in the Photos app are taking up

I don't have a 7D, but one of my Canon cameras produces raw photos that are 20+ meg each. The camera kit copies the raw photos 'as is', so they will be the full size on the iPad, so you are likely to use up quite a lot of space on your iPad
