Projectors with Keynote

I have attempted to make a presentation with keynote. Two projectors worked without any difficulty. The third one, a sony, didn't. On the projection screen it stated "searching." It apparently did not find my computer. I have had several answers, such as, the VGA port was not activated on the projector. I should have pressed the command key and the F1 key. Any ideas? Thanks. When the beamer is connected and on, open System Preferences, Displays, press detect displays and see if the beamer now appears. If it does, turn on mirroring and it should work.

If not, the beamer should be set for a different input signal, usually some kind of menu you can walk through on the beamer, just try them all.
