Q: How to stop running Apple Hardware Test via OS X interent Recovery

I used to be able to run the Hardware test without using the OS X interent Recovery, but now it automaticly goes to the internet recovery mode and takes about 3 mins to download the test program.  Dose anyone knows how I can do the test straight from my Hard Drive again?

My mac mini dose not come with any DVD drive and everything was preinstalled on the HDD.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

It's not possible to run Apple Hardware Test anymore from the hard drive on new Macs. On old Macs, which came with DVDs, there was a workaround to copy Apple Hardware Test to the OS X volume and run Apple Hardware Test from the hard drive. Now, you can't do this and you have to run Apple Hardware Test from Apple servers.

All Mid 2011 and newer Macs get Apple Hardware Test from Apple because they don't come with DVDs, so it's the only way to run it. Apart from that, you shouldn't run Apple Hardware Test so many times, or is there a problem with your Mac mini?
